Exceptional wine. These grapes were definitively picked at peak phenolic ripeness. Lifted fragrant bouquet followed by a rounded balanced chewy palate showing red currants, mint and that Carménère giveaway of spicy complimentary subtle green pyrazine flavors. So subtle that I would be reluctant to describe this as “bell pepper” but instead leaning red jalapeño. A satisfying sip with a 30+ second finish.

No doubt one of the best Carménères I've tasted, with good color, a great balance of acidity, fruit, wood and tannin, plus a generous finish. This is a well-rounded Bordeaux-family wine that is simply well put together. While Chile offers good Carménères, this shows that Washington can produce great Carménères.

Exceptional bouquet, this varietal is increasing in popularity. Bartholomew Carmanare is top 3 from Washington and sell out every year.
