  • Blackberry, Oak and lovely slight Vanilla noted in this dark core Malbec. Better last night compared v CNY 2022 experience, perhaps we were all in a better jovial and happy environment last night.

Thanks to E for sharing this on his birthday. A super evening at Butchers Table, with TomaPork too. Slurpssss!

  • 12m in 50% French Foudre and 50% concrete, 23 day maceration. Also @ 3608ft.

Paraje Altamira, lots of calcium carbonate. Northern part of San Carlos up against Tunuyan.

Stay away from overripe fruit to maintain tension. Sebastian notes that Malbec is too sensitive to oak (Malbec doesn't like oxygen). 2014 was a cold and wet harvest, and contributes to the white pepper in the wine.

More density of aroma. Some black pepper rustic underlay. More earthiness too. Fresh black fruit on the palate, more vibrant pepper to the palate, but well integrated and not a sore thumb. Still lots of freshness, not overbearing whatsoever. Oak isn't all too apparent. A little bit of tannin here vs Concrete 2019. Medium minus tannin. Not a selection from just one type of soil, similar place as Concreto.

  • Um Malbec intenso e preciso, para beber agora ou guardar, ao gosto do freguês.

  • Smoking good. Really tight and reserved on opening, smoky, spicy, with a blanket of graphite, earth and herbs that took some time to unravel. The core of the wine was sensational - high toned, intense and hyper focused dark cherry and plum, with the herbs and spice notes still there, adding depth. Beautifully vivid and super expressive. So good with chocolate cake
