Swordfern Wine Tasting #3: Semillon (Paul and Kelli's: Seattle, WA): This was a really nice wine - very similar to the 2006 L'Ecole 41. Both are about 87% Semillon with the rest Sauvignon Blanc. Very expressive nose of figs and caramel. On the palate, excellent balance of creamy texture and lime-driven acid.

No Formal Notes Taken, enjoyed with a Greek Feast, was light, crisp wine with enought acidity to stand up to the food, and enough complexity to be interesting but not enough to over shadow the meal. Perfect for what we had with it.

2007 Passport to Woodinville weekend; 3/31/2007-4/1/2007 (Woodinville, WA): Beautiful nose of apple and pear. Flavors of pear, honey, and some minerality. Nice length finish. This will be one that we will drink this summer with seafood on the grill. Great stuff.
