Had two great bottles just 6 mo ago but this, both upon opening and 24 hours later, was mean and green. Not conventional TCA, just bitter greens and a jammy note of stewed fruit. Bitter finish. Because I know what it should be I'll put it down as flawed even if I don't have a name for why.

This is the original block planted in 1975 by Kiona's founders back when cabernet sauvignon--get this--wasn't considered a viable grape in Washington state. Tasting this side by side with the other estate cabernets would be a teachable moment for new wine lovers who do not yet appreciate the difference that vine age makes. The leathery complexity and earthy layers tell a compelling story. Outstanding! Loved it, bought it.

At its peak. Elegant with plenty of red and black fruit.
