Pretty robust for a damp, cool vintage. Lots of smoky meat, road tar, blackberry, and cocoa. The mouth is pretty well-balanced, giving evidence to a longer growing season from a great site.

Love this wine. Had it with seared sesame crusted tuna cooked on my Big Green Egg. It paired great with the grilled tuna and toasted sesame seeds. I think it could age longer and really be fantastic. Extremely balanced from nose to finish. Probably my favorite Syrah.

NVMLC. Deep purple in the glass. This has an explosive nose of blue and black fruits. Whoever says 2011 in Napa is a lost vintage hasn't tried this wine. Huge flavor and power with absolute finesse. Palate is suave and balanced with grippy tannins and great freshness.

Enjoyed at a winery tasting. Much to my surprise, this was the best wine of the tasting. Big smoky black fruits, spice, floral aromas, and some notes of lavender. Meaty, full bodied texture that has a very Northern Rhone flair. Absolutely gorgeous with a great QPR at $54, even at the winery price!

Paired with sausage lasagna..wonderful. More pepper than I think I have ever tasted in a wine before.
