Indeed! An exciting new Jura producer. The bouquet is so so saline/pure limestone. More about the terroir than the grape. Reminds me of how Domaine de Saint Pierre expresses the terroir. The fruit is pure and well structured, surprisingly so for a pinot/poulsard blend. Dark, almost inky. Very pure; not at all oxidative. This is a very powerful Jura red. Interested to see how it shows on night 2 and suspect this one will be long lived
Day 2 some darkish, brambly fruit is emerging from its shell and integrating with the chalky nose... As good as it was on day 1, even better after a day...But I'll eave the score unchanged

I'm pretty certain that Jura is becoming one of my favorite wine regions, and Les Matheny's wines currently top my list. Every one doesn't disappoint. I'd ordered the single varietal Poulsard from one of my preferred shops, and the got this in error. I took it anyway. The Pinot Noir adds some structure and boldness to the delicate Poulsard, and while I still prefer the single varietal, this is an interesting and enjoyable experience as well. Really nice.

Acker 2019/11 (Valcluse): Nice raspberry, almost juice, some brewed fruit, expressive vanilla, good body, thin but very interesting. 91
