Opened this without remembering what it was (selected puncheons that would normally go into Citrine). This makes sense, because it has the same impression of outsized presence on a light frame (like a bird fluffing up its feathers) that I associate with Citrine. The salinity others note is heavy here, especially on PnP, which together with some reduction is enough to mimic barrel toast at first taste, but this quickly sorts itself out into a really delicious drink, substantial and long and with great texture, but not at all heavy. Drink or hold; I’ll hang onto one at least 5 more years.

Medium lemon color. Took about 30 mins to open up but afterwards showed really nice lemon zest, granny smith apple, white florals, salty minerality. Similar flavors on the palate with an overall delicious profile of juicy orchard and citrus fruit with crisp acidity and a rocky, salty mineral backdrop. Long finish. Bottle disappeared quick. Fantastic bottle of chardonnay.

Continues to be a wonderful bottle of chard. Saline, bright yellow fruit, citrusy, yellow apple, slight creaminess. Food-friendly and balanced, and an amazing QPR.
