Red fruits, tobacco and leather take the lead in this outstanding brunello. Layers and layers of complexity. Amazing juice with a hand full of years still ahead.

In a single blind tasting of Brunellos from 1989 through 2007, this wine scored just below the top tier, which shows that the 95 point score in the Wine Spectator overrated the wine. Nonetheless, it was an impressive Brunello that only got better when repeatedly retasted against its competition for over a week. Ended darkly colored, enjoyably fruity, well structured by acid and tannin, well on its way to be smoothly integrated, and ageworthy for patiently cellaring for more years.

Decanted for an hour and two which was fine. Deep dense wine but lacked the varietal characteristics on the nose as much as other Brunellos I've had.

Not sure if this was a bad day, but I did not like as much as the bottle last month. Strong, but alcohol dominated the experience.

Slow opening up, but rich dark cherry and fairly well integrated. Still not my favorite Brunello, but a decent wine.
