Excellente ! Parfumée, légèrement douce/sucrée, bien goûtue, bonne présence en bouche. Surpris en bien ! Très bonne maturité, se laisse bien boire maintenant.

Samples: Muted nose. Spicy and concentrated. Tannic, with an unusual bitterness on the finish... On the second day, it just tasted over ripe. Pruney and fruit past its prime... 85 down to 80

Random Samples from Freixenet, Palm Bay, and Rutherford Ranch (The Jug (Upstairs)): Tasted over a two day period. Different than the other two tasted. At first I thought I was getting a lot of brett on the nose, but soon realized that I had the same notes from the last two. I don't think it's brett, but rather a rusticity that this winery holds. Aging in old concrete vats have given this a very earthy, rustic nose that isn't fruit dominated. The palate is also very rustic and secondary. 76-78pts. Day two: The palate has opened and the fruit has emerged. Black currant, chocolate, plums, and a hint of spearmint towards finish. Still rather chewy and tannic, but this time has the fruit to back it up. 86-88pts.
