I am so very glad he found my last bottle of this in my cellar. We decanted it for 10 min before the first tastisng tons of spicy fruit with a little Bordeaux style funk on the nose. After another 5 min of swirling, a long complex Cab started to assert itself. As I am writing this 2+hours after drinking, my apologies for the lack of clarity pertaining to particular flavors. Suffice to say, at 16 yrs old, this Pepperbridge Cab had a long, fruity flavor profile with blackberries, a touch of tar and well intergrated tannins. We were eating some assorted cured meats from LaurelHurst Market in Portland. The combination of the wine and meats made both taste better, ethereal even, a magical spell that can happen with good food and wine. We were both blown away. I thought it was much better than the last time I drank it, maybe 2009? It speaks well both for the vinatage of Washington Cab (‘01) and the skill of the winemaker at Pepperbridge. Well done Sir!

Well aged Cab that still has some ample cherry and plum flavors. Lighter body than I would have expected, but very delicate and smooth finish.

Light bodied, old world-style cab, quite restrained and balanced, sort of a mini-Pauillac.
