Tasted as part of a 5 bottle blind tasting on Xmas Day. In order they were ranked Bollinger Grand Annee 2002 (£90), Collard-Picard Cuvee Prestige Brut (£40), 2018 Twee Jonge Krone (£17), Louis Vertay Brut NV (£17), last a cheap Prosecco. At £17 we though good value for money, it was some people's favourite. Quite light, first taste a little I insipid but then flavours developed.

Caviste, UK, Zoom tasting of South Aftican wines. We opened the evening with this bubbly from Twee Jonge in Tulbach. Kept on lees for 12 months. Colour is bronze/amber. Lots of fine bubbles. Light nose, apricots. Palate is lemony and buttery, then the brioche develops. If tasted blind, I'd guess this was a decent Prosecco, it's got that style. Great way to start the evening.

Very dry and fruity. Pear peach and white grape. Finishes quickly with a touch of yeast at the end. Nice.

Really nice with a zippy citrus acidity. Nice body and bead.

This was really characterful, pretty deep for such a young fizz.
