A hint of light bricking on the rim, but a beautiful dark crimson core. A touch muted on the nose with iron, black cherry and violets. Not a blockbuster on the attack, in fact a little muted black cherry fruit, but lovely texture on the mid palate with really nice crunchy acidity and tannic bite on the finish. A lovely showing for a 21 year old village wine, with plenty of life left for well stored bottles.

This was the third bottle of six I was given and all have been marked by a strongly maderised, metalic nose and palete. Colour suggests the wine is at least full mature, having a distinctly brownish tinge all the way through, but even if a little over the hill, this does not explain the taint, which renders it completely undrinkable.

Very light color to the rim, with slight bricking. Aromas of damp forest floor, bright red fruit with a palate to match and touch of mineral. This wine is definitely "end of life", would have loved to tasted it a couple years earlier.

Had together with chicken with orange sauce. Nice but subtle nose of mushrooms and sous-bois. Sleek taste of pinot fruit with some tannins. Probably singing on the last verse but still quite nice.

Light red color when poured. Rim of the wine is pretty light for a 99. Nose with mild red fruits. Palate is also light with slight tannin. Drink up now this wine will be going down.
