Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 89.6 points

  • Diam30 cork. Medium gold yellow. Upon opening, on the nose, aromas of popcorn, faint citrus. On the palate, the attack is lively, lifted, with the aromas as found on the nose, with added citrus and minerals. A good length and concentration. This is more ethereal than the Montceau. It is still very lively and I would likely give it another year or two. Certainly not in an overripe style despite the vintage. No rush to drink these, next in 2026. 90 or so today, but with upwards potential.

  • Agree with the other notes that this needs some time to fill out a bit. Shows some brisk acidity, dominated by lemon/lime wiry energy. A bit austere at the moment. Peach, citrus, lemon drop are here. Clean and without pretense, but a bit one-note at the moment.

  • Coravin sample from a new bottle. Nice pale straw with green reflections. On the nose upon opening, reductive notes at first, then aromas of white fruit (peach, pear), bacon fat/popcorn, almonds, musk. On the palate, the attack is frank with a good acidity; citrus, pear, popcorn character with a good citrus-mineral length. Not as broad as the Montceau or the en Remilly, more ethereal in nature. This has not yet come together and I would recommend waiting till 2024 before enjoying.

    90 or so today.

I will pop the cork and watch this over the next few days. If it changes much, I will come back and edit this comment.

  • Diam 30 cork. Nice medium-pale-medium gold yellow. Upon opening, aromas of orange, pear and raw almonds. On the palate, the attack is frank, nearly explosive, with a potent citrus seam lifting the aromas found on the nose and adding some lemon and minerals and within 10-15 seconds of the final, a faint buttery note appears. No visible oak. Good length. This is quite nice, again, in a somewhat lively, good-volume yet ethereal way. I'm going to enjoy watching this ripen over the next 5-7 years at first guess. Unlike the Montceau tasted at the same age, I don't think this is ready. Next not before 2022 and ideally 2023. Slight musk, reminiscent of the 2014 but also surprisingly of the Ramonet Ruchottes 2013. Charmois is on the Chassagne side of St-Aubin and though it may not rival en Remilly, I am very fond of it...
A little difficult to score, so I may come back to this. 90 for now.
