Slow-ox overnight. Sour red cherries, leathery tobacco and robust tannins wrap up a powerful palate. Great concentration of red fruits without feeling too heavy.
Much more concentration than the Paolin. Enjoyable w/ some leftover BBQ.

Decanted for dinner (petite sirloins) then took notes after we ate. Not sure the 2+ hours this was decanted softened anything, very bold and tannic, like drinking liquid iron with hints of red cherries and high octane black tea made even more astringent by adding pine bark. Way too young but wasn't expecting the acidity to be completely shut down. Drinks better with food however the iron-tannic-bite never really mellows, bevel the edges so the acidity can peak through then I can justify a higher evaluation. B (86) for now and not touching my last bottle for a while.

Tasted vis-a-vis the 2017, this seems more open and sweet with softer tannin and richer fruit. Still much too young (in my book), but the vintage speaks quite loudly and while young, it's pure joy. 92+ #gastro
