Spectacular. Truly one of the best Napa cabs I've experienced. It was big and extracted yet harmonious. Black currant, dark chocolate, and violet. I didn't notice tannins or oak, unlike other CT reviewers. This bottle seemed to be at peak maturity, with little upside potential and no reason to expect near-term decline. So if you own this, I'd say enjoy now and over the next 5, maybe 10, years.

At PNP I would have guessed a completely different wine. Not the classically styled soft and elegant bottle I recall. This has beefed up a good bit and gained a good amount of tannins that need to be resolved. Let's assume 2026 before the next pull but I don't think that will be enough. Similar experience as other To Kalon wines I've tried in the past. A bit deceptive before and after bottling.
Give this one time but if you must, double splash decant 24 hours in advance.
Hold.

Bottle was in pristine condition. First one removed from an OWC 3-pack. A purple color suggesting youth and lots of dark fruit, plums. However, taste revealed it was already at point. Could not see it improve any further, though I would guess it would be fine for the next 5-years. If you would like a cab with classic nose and taste that is ready to drink, look no further. But if you we hoping it would be a possibly great cab given a few more years, look somewhere else

A massive wine. Deep ruby, almost purple color. Pronounced aromas of black currant, blackberry, black plum, charred wood, smoke, tobacco. Medium acid and tannins; High alcohol. Pronounced flavors of black fruit, wood, smoke and tobacco. Long finish. Still has plenty of cellar life left in it.
