Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • A trip to South Africa's Coastal Region with Reni, Rainer and Bert. Day 12, Stellenbosch and Camps Bay (Cape Town). The 200ha Kleine Zalze Estate has 110 ha under wine. Kleine Zalze uses both estate grown grapes (roughly 1/3 of the production) and purchased grapes (roughly 2/3 of the production). We tasted Kleine Zalze's wines at the winery's tasting room, with our charismatic host Wayne van Rooyen.

Mid salmon in colour. Floral notes, red fruit, strawberry, raspberry and watermelon. A light and dry style. Average length and a slightly bitter finish. Nothing to write home about.
