  Powerful but delicious wine from the heart of the Lagrein region (hamlet of Gries in the city of Bozen, South Tyrol / predominantly porphyry soils). It was aged for fourteen months in a combination of barriques and larger oak barrels. Decanted: one hour prior to tasting. Deep dark, almost impenetrable purple-red in color and a complex and gorgeous nose of ripe forest berries, violets, cassis and hints of leather and eucalyptus. The full-bodied and voluptuous palate reveals ripe and concentrated blackberry, blueberry and plum fruit, great depth, an excellent structure and abundant but well-behaved tannins. Superb aftertaste. A fascinating Lagrein wine that is already highly enjoyable now, but it has all the components to age well. Optimal enjoyment: now–2028.
  
  Krachtige maar heerlijke wijn uit het historische hart van het Lagrein gebied (het gehucht Gries van de stad Bozen, Zuid-Tirol / overwegend porfierbodems). Hij rijpte veertien maanden in een combinatie van barriques en grotere eiken vaten. Gedecanteerd: één uur voor consumptie. Diep donker, bijna ondoordringbaar paarsrood van kleur en een schitterende, complexe neus van rijpe bosbessen, viooltjes, cassis en wat nuances van leder en eucalyptus. Het robuuste en voluptueuze smaakpatroon wordt gekenmerkt door rijp en geconcentreerd bramen-, bosbessen- en pruimenfruit, een uitstekende structuur en dito diepgang, en overvloedige maar al mooi geïntegreerde tannines. Overweldigende afdronk. Een fascinerende Lagrein-wijn die nu al perfect genietbaar is, maar zeker nog jaren lang mee zal gaan. Optimaal drinkgenot: nu–2028.

  Very nice and easy approachable wine. Soir cheries, vanilla and some chocolate on the nose. Intense ripe red fruit, sour cherries combined with some milk chocolate and coffee. Long and intense aftertaste. It has ageing potential, but I don’t have the patience to wait for it as I like the wine young
