The color is garnet with brick tones at the rim, very dense color but just a little opacity - very little. Very interesting, old world character on the nose with notes of rare meat, bell pepper, smoke, iodine, currants, and tart cherry. The tastes are sour cherry, currants, iodine, pepper, earth, bell pepper, vanilla, and dill. The acidity is nice and the tannins are thin and satin like and the finish is long. This exceeded expectations.

Deep garnet red in color. Full, bosomy nose of red fruit and cassis with a prominent green pepper overtone. The palate is smooth with almost no tannins and near creamy acidity. The flavors echo the nose including the green pepper (seems to be a characteristic if all South African reds I've had) which does not appeal to me. Not sure I get the 90+ ratings: this is a good wine but not great, and I've had far less costly wines that give at least as much. Drink now if you still have it as it won't likely get any better.

meegenomen naar tasting, wijn spartelde wat tegen, gaf zich niet zo prijs, bleef wat gesloten, veel concentratie en power, veel inhoud, moeilijkere fase wellicht, snel een nieuwe poging, echt wel een eetwijn

Beautiful after decanted for five hours. Blackberry and chocolate undertones. My last bottle from the case. Shame.

mooie rustige wijn, nu helemaal in balans, geen scherpe randjes meer, prettig glas, warmte, mooie inhoud, well done Ernie
