14.5% ABV. Deeply colored, opaque dark garnet in the glass. As Cabernet-Sangiovese blends go, I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by this wine. Reticent cedar/old wood on the nose, full bodied and rich with dried cherry and red currant fruit. Slightly dry tannin in the finish. The nose picked up some dusty charcoal like aromas with air. Good.

Funny but because of the Bella Luna blend of Cab and Sangio, the fragrancy of this is similar - BUT this is more refined and expressive. With air this becomes smooth and fruity with the tannins not too tight. Nothing profound but wonderful with filet & potatoes.

The winery was nice enough to throw in a bottle of this blend with my mailing list order, so I thought I'd return the favor by posting a note. Dark garnet in the glass. Nose is very cabernet-like (cassis and dust). In the mouth, it's all about inky darkness--black fruits, smoky brush and tar. Nicely balanced, this is a wine that rewards patience with purity. Finish is fairly long, and a bit drying. Probably should have waited a year or two to drink this one.
