  • Pale lemon straw.
Gorgeous nose: almonds, rose, lime, wet granite paving stones, butter at that stage just before it turns noisette. There's even a bit of sweet apple in there. The only thing missing are any sauvignon/bacchus type notes.
Rich, creamy, mouth-coating palate. There's some orchard fruit with a touch of vanilla (presumably from a touch of oak in the winemaking?)
Really good, and only 11.5% abv. Indeed the back label is curiously insistent about the 11.5% alcohol, as it appears three times next to each other!

  • Remarkably pale straw with just a hint of green. Hefty legs.
Wow. What a nose. It's like every white wine in the world in one sniff. Floral, with white flowers and rose, an almondy nutty note, ctirus zest, green apple and a touch of beurre noisette. Remarkable.
While the nose is a world tour, the palate transports you direct to Portugal and the Douro. Rich and buttery, with some marzipan notes, citrus and a chamois leather texture.
Lovely stuff, and only 11.5% abv.
