I opened this because I couldn’t believe no one else had yet, but now I understand why; after 2.5 hrs in the decanter it’s extremely tight, though sampling in sommelier stems improves its approachability. This is nothing like it’s Napa Merlot sibling, which includes this fruit along w Switchback Ridge/Peterson vineyard fruit.
Restrained dark fruits, cassis and crushed stone on the nose. Not overly tannic on the palate but still restrained and not fully integrated. Will lay aside 2 remaining bottles until 2025 or later, when I can see this at 94-5
Only 24 cases produced and packaged solely in a 3 yr vertical 15/16/17.
