A year on, and as expected still drinking extremely well. Lively, expansive nose of red fruit and eucalyptus, with a hint of barnyard. Full and structured palate, integration of fruit and acidity leads smoothly into long, silky finish. Delicious!

Surprisingly fresh and youthful. On the modern side, and though it drinks well without decanting, there's very little secondary development of the type one hopes for in a 13 year old Burg.

Well....looks like I kept this a bit longer than most others. But it's aged well ! Deeper coloured than a typical Burg of this age. Strawberry and raspberry nose, with some smoke, spice and saddle leather. Powerful, big fruit flavours on the palate. Yes, quite a lot of wood, but I don't find it overwhelming. Long, sweet and fruity finish. This is drinking really well now, and shows what a lesser 1er Cru can do in a great Burg vintage.

I was surprised to find one more bottle of this in my fridge. Quite dark, modern, very velvety and quite full-bodied on the palate. A bit of cork taint unfortunately.

Ordered at "De Vanenburg" with roast duck. Nose of strawberries/blackberries with forest floor, palate similar with great balance between fruit and spice and between acidity and the fine, mostly resolved tannins. Improved over the next hour. Nice aftertaste over 20 seconds and lingering on. Great bottle.
