Blackberry fruit with high-ish acid; some slight tertiary notes, even though this is a somewhat young. Balanced and good with food-- an enjoyable wine, but a bit overpriced for what it is.

Deep purple colour. Nose has medium intensity. Crushed black fruits, blackcurrant, some hedgerow character, blackberry, distinct leafiness too. Slight tart, sharp note. Palate is surprisingly tart, high acidity, sour black cherry, tart hedgerow fruit, amerliorated slightly by a little chocolatey character on the finish. Small dark berries too, like eldeberries perhaps?
Good quality and distinctive, but not my favourite of the Triebaumer wines I've tried so far. Needs a good food pairing to off-set the tart black fruit. Hard cheese perhaps?
