This is indeed a pleasant surprise. A great Sauv Blanc, style-wise closer to Bordeaux than New Zealand. Fresh white peaches on the nose, along with cat pee and flint. Fresh citrusy fruit mixed with savory notes. Nice use of oak on this one, and with the acidity I'm guessing it will evolve nicely for 2-3 years. Very good.

After the red blend I was a little afraid what I'd find in this bottle but surprise surprise; this rivals "C" du Castel as Israel's best white wine and certainly exceeds it in terms of fruit purity as it's just classic Sauvignon Blanc: crisp grapefruit, gooseberry, and lemon-lime flavors with a long, fresh finish that reveals flint and schist-like minerality. I really hated to sacrifice ten drops of this for the plagues. At $22, an excellent value even setting aside its kosher status.
