Named after a small house on the top of the hill. USes the Ricciotto skins, not the Amarone skins. Fruity ripeness with that touch of amarone to it. And that is a very high richness in Ripasso. Got 8 g/L of sugar, powerful. Has the backbone to cover it.

Slightly disjointed at first, probably as cellar cool and not decanted. Sour cherry notes, acidity quite pronounced and tannin a bit dominant. Settled down ok, and went well with lamb shanks with red onion and rosemary braised in red wine and balsamic. Opened out nicely on night two, smoother, more integrated with sweeter fruit notes, tannins less obtrusive. Probably better opened and decanted for a couple of hours. An enjoyable wine if not as complex as some previous vintages.

More roasted than dried fruits this time, and maybe slightly overripe at that. Good enough, but not as good as some previous vintages.
