Past it's prime. Harsh alcohol in aroma and flavor. This wine was more citrus, pear and spritzy than I was anticipating. I was expecting a nice mellow, oaky, buttery chardonnay. I paired with some skillet chicken slop and this wine would have been better with seafood, probably shrimp in particular.

Very nice inexpensive Umbrian chardonnay, especially for the price. 2 bottles enjoyed about 3 months apart, both with seafood, minerally and crisp with some tartness and primarily green apple flavors. Would definitely buy again at this price.

A bit tarter than some CA chardonnays. Best with food.
