  • Just ok upon opening but much better as it opened up. If you are holding it, definitely time to drink up. Popped the cork and aerated the juice, letting it stand in the glass then for 30 minutes on first pour to 90 minutes on the second pour. This bottle was included as part of our 2013 Et Fille spring cellar club selections. It is always fun to get library selections but we can see why they are unloading this from the warehouse now (making room for the stellar 2012s, no doubt). The fruit is mostly gone, leaving a slightly sour note - but the taste of alcohol is prominent. Would've loved to have tasted this a couple of years ago at its peak. The viscosity is lovely and the finish is very pleasingly long on the toasty oak side. It is definitely better with food - in our case pizza - which took the sourness completely away and mellowed the taste of the alcohol.
