  • A pét-nat. 13,5% alcohol.

Quite hazy pale green color with some particles as well. Wild, yeasty and somewhat waxy nose with aromas of ripe pear, some ripe golden apples and a little bit of funk. The wine is dry-ish, fruity and somewhat wild on the palate with flavors of sappy herbal character, some years, a little bit of sweet white peach, light golden apple tones and a hint of chalky minerality. The mousse feels gently fizzy. High acidity with some alcohol warmth. The finish is slightly warm with quite juicy medium-long flavors of some white fruits, a little bit of golden apple and a hint of chalky minerality.

A nice, fun and juicy little pét-nat. Nothing too complex, but fortunately nothing too funky either. Perhaps a bit too high in alcohol - perhaps the wine would've performed a bit better if it were made from earlier-harvested grapes (since I doubt arresting fermentation before the wine has reached dryness is something Villemade would do)?
