16 years old at this point. When we first opened it, it was acidic and thin. Took an hour and a fab lamb meal to open up. Some cherry/fruit remain. I appreciate an old Washington Merlot made it 16 years, but needs to be consumed!

Brick purple in the glass. Nose faint on opening, opens up with air to dark berry and plum cocoa powder. Firm tannins melt to velvet with air. Palate echoes the nose plus minty cedar and dark spices. Nice and chewy, softening up with air. In case you didn't get it, this can use a good decant. Drink up now. It's good now, but won't get any better. Beef stew is a good choice.

The colour is browned from age, naturally. The aroma is stale and musty and so is the flavour. Past its prime, nearly past drinkability, though still very dry, especially for a Merlot. Below average (77.5).

Sub par for a $23 price point. Overabundant tannins brought this bottle down, along with the loss of flavor and abrupt finish. The only good thing was a medium strength nose and a light texture mouth feel.

Impressive huge nose of blue fruits. Not as much fruit on the palate, though. Too many tannins for what is left of the wine. Don't see this going anywhere, either...
