A cornucopia of fine Rhone and Burgundy in a Playground: past prime, golden brown. Still had some popcorn and flint reduction on the nose and a little bit of fruit on the palate, but better days have been seen in its past. At some point.

My last bottle of this wine was consistent with the others. That is to say consistently outstanding! It is easy to see why Anne-Claude wanted him as Leflaive’s winemaker.

This wine had a light gold center and clear rims. The nose was muted for the first couple hours. After 3+ hours of air, the medium+ intensity nose offered up citrus, marzipan, pear, and some white stone.
In the mouth, this wine was ripe but pretty watery for the first 3-4 hours. It slowly firmed up and eventually showed light acidity to balance the rich, ripe fruit. It had subtle but excellent length.
This was excellent once again!

After 5 hours killer again, showing an attractive powdered stone quality in the mouth. Verging on 95 point quality!
