Second of two bottles. I have to say this has evolved nicely, compared to my note from 2020 this has probably rounded out a bit, there is less if any lingonberry now and much more raspberry, cherry, cranberry, licorice, roses, lettuce, a little bitter edge. At this point I don’t think it is as much hurry to drink as I thought with the last bottle, this probably has a nice development until 2024-25 and might even go longer.
As a Nebbiolo fan, it is so nice to have these well made Alto Piemonte wines to drink slightly chilled on a warm summer evening.

Limestone soils in Coste della Sesia help produce a wine that has classic Nebbiolo flavor, but with higher acid levels and a distinctive metallic taste to it. This is a very happy wine with bright Nebbiolo flavors of cherry and licorice, sour plum, flowers, iron, and lots of minerals and herbs on the finish. Some spice from the Vespaiola and smoke from the Croatina. Long finish. Not profound, but really enjoyable and great value at the price I paid.

A strong nose of alpine herbs, wearing a very upmarket new leather jacket. The palate is of wild strawberries and more herbs. A tiny touch of green on the finish that lasts for minutes. Plainly intended for early drinking but best decanted because it is unfriendly out of the bottle. Unmistakeaby Alto Piemonte without being obviously Nebbiolo, if that makes any sense.
