PnP Color= dehydrated pee. Some tropical fruit on the nose. Pleasing entry, full body, too round for our preference The finish just has too much (raw) oak and is out of balance for me. Almpst tastes like the stromg oak treatment is from staves? Would not buy again.
For comparison we preferred the bottle of 2020 stagsleap base chardonnay we had last week much more (for similar pricepoint).
Although we do love the Ramey Hyde vineyard chardonnay.

1 hour decant. Almost amber. Aromatic, sweet oak, vanilla. Tropical, pineapple, sweet apple, apricot, sweet and spicy oak, some vanilla. Not a butter bomb, but tongue coating. med+ acidity, bright and refreshing. Medium body some compexity. Reminded me of a toned down pelgrini Piner Olivet ln chardonnay.
Update - just as good on day 2. Plenty of drinking window left.
Lot on offer here for $28.

powerful chard. excellent QPR and would be worth the full sticker price. as others have noted, walks the line between old and new world
