Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 88.5 points

  • Tasted at the Enotecca Regionale del Barbaresco. 14% ABV. slightly translucent dark garnet. Rather fragrant with sweet cherry and what seems like a lot of new oak. it smells rich and ripe with more alcohol on the nose that the ABV would suggest. Acidity is only medium, suggesting the nose was confirmed as ripe. Tannins Medium(+) but inobtrusive. Chewy and savory on palate again tasting quite modern and heavily oaked. For those who like this style this is attractive and a fairly early drinker. Less interesting to me but not flawed in any way as far as I can tell. Given the vintage I expected this to be better though.
