As before. Such an immense pleasure to drink a wine of this class. It's also great to open a bottle that feels just so right to drink now. Who knows what I'm missing if I kept it a lot longer. But I've only one bottle left and I imagine it won't last very long. It's a shame sémillon is so out of fashion these days.

Semillon. Good weight, rounded, unctuous. Vanilla, lemon and honey, noticeable pleasant warmth (14%). Medium+ acidity, medium+ body. Persistent with some complexity. Nice now, will improve and add complexity over the next several years.

A fair bit going on if given a bit of time. I’d have sworn it was a blend with some Sav Blanc as it had that new world nettle nose and taste. Bitterness wraps it up with fair bit of acid.

Waxy, thick mouthfeel, concentrated, jasmine, orange water, beautifully balanced, long. This is "grown-up" wine, rather than leap-out-of-the-glass-anyone-would-find-it-delicious wine. But it is beautifully poised, concentrated, and reeks of class.
Tim Atkins marked this at 95. I don't drink very expensive wine often enough to know if it compares at that level. He also described it as toasty, an attribute I associate with 15yr+ Australian sémillon, and don't find at all. It isn't being marketed for long keeping. I haven't any reason to disagree with that. It drank well enough over 3 days.

In comparison to the other wines we had this weekend, I think I have to mark this up from last time. It feels a bit more assured this time.
