Opened this wine at Tunglok Peking Duck (Novena) for a wine dinner. Theme of the evening: Chateau D'Ármailhac vertical.
Straw yellow in colour. Some funky notes on the nose, followed by an avalanche of dried hay, vegetal notes, unripe pineapples and lemon, and minerals. On the palate, the age is starting to show. Despite at 8 years of age (relatively young for a white Bordeaux), the melons and vanilla notes are well developed and showing signs of maturity. The finish leaves a slight touch of citrus and a hint of minerality.
Neither delightful nor impressive.
