Somewhere between ruby and purple; limpid. Lovely nose: unmistakeably Pinot, with savoury berry aromas, sweet oak, and a subtle smokiness drifting in. On the palate, a bouquet of berry and cherry flavours, some vanilla, the ripeness underpinned and balanced by significant acidity. On the long, fresh, finish fine-grained tannins make themselves known, carrying the lovely juicy fruit forward to a satisfying conclusion. (What's that at the very end? Violets, I think.) Under £15, you say? Miraculous: eat your heart out, Burgundy. Screwcap, 14%.

First sniff is smoke and pinot. Same in the mouth. Reminds me of Punt roads entry level pinot and I wanna try them against each other.
Then comes the sweet fruit. Some wood. Some lingonberry acid. Feels like very good bang for buck. Gave Punt Road 88 and this feels just as good. At least until I drink'em against each other.

Impressive quality and complexity on the nose given the price. Strawberries, spices and fallen leaves. Lacks a bit of concentration on the palate but very well balanced with very subtle oak. Overall likeable and definitely worth buying again.
