Friday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): This bottle got more air than last time, but truthfully, it still isn't much more than a nice wine. Pleasant red fruit in a crunchy style, with some really young tannins that are more Pommard-like than last time, likely from the air. But this doesn't have the weight for any long-term aging. Don't get the hype at all.

Some current red Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Clearly some sort of post-modernist thing going on here. Drinks like a Passetoutgrains but without the weight of the good versions. The palate is of a very light style, with pleasant crunchy red fruit and lots of acidity, but no real sense of place. Scarcely any tannins. I like the aromatics, especially with more air -- plenty of perfumed fruit here. Drinkable now, and probably not to hold for any significant time period at all.
