Mørk rød. Mørke bær av kirsebær/plomme, vanilje, krydder og noe røyk på duft. På smak bærsødme, sur/søte kirsebær, treverk, tobakk, syrlig anslag og tydelige noe ubalanserte taniner. God lengde. Søt i ettersmaken.

Deep black cherry colour. Lifted aromas of coconut, oak spices, tobacco, ripe black cherry, plum and some blackberry. Savoury edge with a cocoa powder element. Medium-bodied on entry with lots of sweet cherry and plum with chocolate, quite a firm texture with sweet puckering tannins. Good mid-palate depth with well structured frame, lovely complexity if still not totally knit. Lots of coconut, oak spices and mocha notes underscored with a lively fresh acidity and with a long lingering finish. The tannins do build and there is plenty of new oak with spices galore but the wine feels supple and there is a sweet vanilla, cherry ice-cream quality to the aftertaste (tinned cherries on pancakes with ice-cream!). Very much in the traditional Rioja mould. Very enjoyable!
