  • 13% alcohol.

Nautral, almost colorless whitish-green color. Youthful, primary and rather generic nose with aromas of pear drops, some candied gummi bear tones, a little bit of sour apple candy and a sappy hint of cut grass. The wine is ripe, round and juicy on the palate with youthful flavors of sweet golden apples, some cantaloupe, a little bit of pear, light candied tones and a hint of sappy herbal greenness. Moderately high in acidity. The finish is fresh, juicy and quite long with rather primary flavors of pear drops, some ripe red apple, a little bit of sappy herbal spice and a hint of melon.

An easy, simple and straightforward Italian white with very little character of its own. Tastes more like a generic Pinot Grigio with more emphasis on fruity fermentation flavors than varietal character. I wonder if this wine gains more character of its own as it ages and loses its primary flavors, or just loses the little taste it has and just comes across as completely neutral and tasteless? Ribolla Gialla can be made into very impressive white wines, but doesn't have anything to do with them. It's not a bad wine, just one you really don't need to have anything to do with.
