Nose > Red berries, strawberry, wild forest fruit, dried & fresh herbs. Palate > Red & wild berry fruit with dried flowers. Adds sappy herbal spice in midpalate. Lean balance. Good acidity. Slightly grippy tannins. Med intensity. (89+)

The Fourth Annual World’s Largest Blind Tasting of American Pinot Noir: Retail $30. Big Ass Bottle. Wow, what a difference a year (or two) makes). Medium dark color with a meaty, almost iodine aspect to it. The palate is more of a dark cherry, brooding, baked fruit, with killer acidity and balance. Yowza. 93.
Retail $30. Big Ass Bottle. The Chehalem brand is part of the growing Stoller behemoth and I am perfectly fine with that. Sure, Bill Stoller is the quintessential salesperson, but what he is selling is pretty darned good. While I am *not* a fan of this overly weighty (understatement) bottle, the *contents* are fantastic: great fruit, good weight, the right amounts of earth and acidity, and an admirable finish. Very Good.

Lovely Oregon Pinot. Raspberry nose, med body. Medium acidity with great fruit flavor. Finish is unexpectedly prolonged. This is a great value.
