Absolutely fantastic and great QPR. Just started drinking and will go on for a while. Needs decanting. Minimum 5 hours. Fabulously long finish. I have ran out and trying to source some more. Much better than the very good 2011 Gran Reserva.

I wouldn’t exactly say I didn’t like it but there are other Rioja I would prefer. I did appreciate how the fruit leapt out of the glass. Along with it though was heavy heavy oak. Rioja and oak, yes I know, but there can sometimes be too much. On the palate it translated to reminiscences of my father’s pipe and vanilla.
First night I drank w a couple hour decant and paired with paella. A great match and very smooth (hence the 90pt rating). Second night I drank the remaining 1/2 bottle and it was OK but definitely a step down from night one. So it leads me to think this is ready now.

Solid Rioja. Dark fruit, good mouthfeel. Brief decant opened it up. Not sure it is quite a Gran Riserva quality - but nice nonetheless. Solid QPR

Medium Weight. Smooth muted dark fruit. Perfectly fine bottle of wine, but thin for a Gran Reserva.
