Soft, expressive floral aromas... Followed by very high acid and tannin. Seems young but I wonder if this will ever soften enough to coax out the traditional notes that seem buried. Sour cherry is present but somewhat overshadowed.

Double decanted in the morning. Nose of roses and dark fruits. Quite big and warm on the palate with licorice and again dark berry fruit. Longish finish. A touch of alcohol coming through at the end. In its drinking window and will keep but probably not improve much from now. A good example of modern barolo that suited the strong fruit vintage.

Nose: Nice range from rose to red fruits and orange zest and then finally leather and camphor.
Taste: Primary black and red fruits with slightly rustic tannins integrated together by secondary nuances- think warmed blackberries and plums under decaying autuml leaves.
Overall: Although this is anything from refined and high-toned, I was surprised by the classic rose on the nose- not something I typically find from a modernista. And though there is still a lot of material buried underneath the tannin, it is already drinking well with plenty of air.
One of the better and more ageworthy modern piedmontese wines I have encountered and although not my style, this is a well-made wine and an interesting drink. I wish I had another bottle to try in five years time.

Highly concentrated, intense explosion of strawberries, dried penis, herbs, coffee and spice.
