Excellent. This was beautiful out of the gates and over hours with and without food. Nerello Mascalese is the Sicilian that often draws Burgundian comparisons, but instantly drew to that upon PnP. With time it reminded me of Mencia. Tart red fruit, but not tart, tar, boysenberry, dark cherry, hints of smoke, a wild and rustic sense that worked very well.
Glad to have gotten at the close-out $35 USD, where it represented very nice QPR, while the U.S. full price ~$65 stretches it a bit.

See previous notes. Volcanic ash, black cherries. An easy drinking red, with complexity to spare. Perfect for a midday summer picnic or pizza night in our case.

Dark ruby in glass. Medium plus intensity on the nose. Kirsch, black cherry, volcanic ash, incense and leather. Impressive body for a 12.5% wine. Medium plus acidity and medium tannin. Medium plus, lovely finish. Drink slightly on the cooler side.
