Very good and more full bodied than expected for only 10% new oak. Full body with medium acid. Honey and salty mineral hit first follow by stone fruit. Closer to room temp it’s all crème brûlée. Blind I would guess Meursault. Needs time to fatten up in the middle and finish but not something to hold more than a few more years in my opinion.

Barrel Tasting at Domaine Lafarge (Volnay): From a plot just below the forest. 10% new oak. Lots of rich and forward fruit with very good concentration yet still fresh and lively in the clean finish. 89-91

Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. A little less oaky than the Meursault VS (a village that can take oak a little better than the Beaune). This has a little bit of a leaner vibe, with a brighter tart citrus profile that gives this a refreshing quality versus the richer and slightly waxier Meursault VS.

Visite au domaine Lafarge (mars 2020) (Au domaine): Puissant et bien frais, avec une bonne profondeur, une finale en finesse. Très bel équilibre. Excellent, mon préféré des blancs ce jour là.
