Merely Prisoner quality OK on opening, it had developed into very good the next day.
Checks all the Napa cab boxes: prominent black fruit, chocolate, tar and a little bit of white flowers and spice; vanilla presence of American oak; enough acid to give it some structure; soft but present tannins; fairly full body and lingering but not long finish.
Medium aroma that’s black fruit and a little spice
Well worth the price without being super distinctive. An excellent wine to have with some meat esp if given time to open up.

Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (EBCC): Double blind. Chocolate, beef jerky, ancho chili powder and black fruit aromas. Full-bodied with medium tannins and flavors of currants and chocolate. Excellent little cab sauv. (R&D)

Bold fruit, some leather and spice on the nose Round flavor with fine/dusty tannin. Medium to short finish. Grab all that’s left on the Publix clearance for $35. Punches well above its weight for that price

This bottle was not as full and robust in the big napa cab profile as previous bottles. Is this fading or just bottle variation?

Good QPR. I’d had another Napa cab in same price range that was just OK and did not expect much here, but I came away happy.
Drinking very easily. Will look for more.
