Further to my Note of Nov 6, '20: this is #2. Consistent notes but more notice to the beautiful dark color and the prominent blackberry nose and palate. This was delicious. Solid Notable+.

Bought 4b for 9/b from Wine Exchange 12+ years ago; this is #1. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Dark purple; mature blackberry, dried black plum that follow on the palate, bit of licorice, good mouthfeel; some persistence. Good match with pesto chicken and asparagus pasta; better with food. Needs drinking, glad I have a few more. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.

This is not a typical Italian. There is no dusty road, earth, or dry fruit here. There is plenty of fruit a little on the unripe side. Allow to open for an hour.

Features Presentation at Wine Exchange (Orange, CA): Dark plummy red. Sweet raspberry fruit has a hint of bubblegum. Nice fruit-acid balance on the palate, but on the simple side.
