  started drinking 45 minutes after decanting. Smoky, a little earthy, some fruit here along with cedar notes. Definitely a little lean and dry on the palate. After some 1 hour and 45 minutes in the decanter this was minty with some leather.

  Nez cerise noire, prune. En bouche ampleur moyenne, bien balancé et équilibré. Bonne longueur. Devrait tenir encore plusieurs années.

  Opened at the Wine Watch and it was NOT PnP. It had a funk that needed to aerate after 1 hour decant and then became enjoyable. It swirled on the palate with black cherry, deep cranberry, hint of mushroom, forest floor and expresso. A 100% Merlot from Pomerol that is holding up fairly well but is entering it great window to drink up.

  Drink this nectar and know joy. 06 was a decidedly “meh” year but one cant find a scintilla of mediocrity in this wine. Typical deep garnet color. You can sense the alcohol in the flare of your nostrils and the full legs on the glass yet it’s 13.5%, down the fairway. Heavy red fruit, cherry mostly with some syrup. Perhaps a Maraschino?
  
  Medium+ length integrated tannins. All around great. Better for the weak vintage.
