Tasted side-by-side with Seghesio '18 Cortina zinfandel. Todd had more dark fruit, pepper and bigger structure/tannins. Cortina was more ripe cherry with velvety texture. Different characteristics but similar quality level. 90-91

Bright tart and red berry fruit on opening that gets darker and softer with some air, attaining an almost liqueur feel after an hour. Fairly high acidity. Medium tannins. Would benefit from at least a brief decanting.

we probably should have opened this up and aired it more than we did...ran it through an aerator...it was good, though...it smelled "hot" like a young wine with high alcohol content... at 15.5% that made sense... i liked how is was spice...maybe tannins first and fruit second on the palate...liked how it lingered... as the bottle opened up it got a bit less sour cherry...not that there was a lot of sour cherry...just a bit...and it backed off with time. Open this bottle up about an hour before drinking...maybe a bit more. Went well with chicken apple sausage...action...no magic...but the sausage made the sausage spicier...and the wine sweeter when paired

Similar to my previous note. Beautiful vibrant zinfandel fruit. I detected more pepper on the finish this time. Tannins persist on the finish and are somewhat drying.

Ripe dark berry fruit and oak spice. Medium acidity and tannins. Good intensity and balance considering the alcohol level. 91+
