Typical 2017 Chianti. After a bit of air, this shows typical notes of cherry and espresso. The tannins are a bit firm. Likely won’t improve, bit still has a fews years ahead of it.

13 dollars at Costco...inspired by Italian recent wines(especially bottles of various amarone at unbelievably reasonable prices in local restaurants) on a trip to Veneto...past experiences with Italian wines stateside are usually not consistent with those in Italia...this was no exception....for a 2017 chianti, strikes me as overly tannic without the fruit to support the truly mouth puckering tannic experience...agree with others that it is certainly high in acidity but 2 sips was enough for me...

Very dry, deep red with just a hint of amber along the edges. The wine is clear and sediment free. Medium body, medium alcohol, high acidity, high tannins. Primarily plum & cherry in the nose, secondarily leather. The texture is pleasantly robust, with a finish that lingers.

Smells like classic chianti classico. Mocha, dark chocolate, rich. Warm spices and body.

A nice medium-light Italian style wine.
Very nice body with a slight and pleasurable tannin finish.
