Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 90 points

  • The first in a vertical of three. NOSE: Brooding comfort. Reserved. Mineral, with a wry twist of herbed raspberry pepper, like a beckoning index finger. MOUTH: Compact impressions of pulpy, ripe, black and red berries. The easygoing Maury terroir, and a bit of sweet oak, leads the flavors, and sweeten fairly massive tannins. As these tussle and resolve, what emerges is a bracing mineral posture, and lots of berry skin energy. Inhaling over it reveals only the frost of a mint leaf and a brown stem; nothing vegetal. Ginger heat, sour scree, mustard seed, tightly organized berries, and salted violets. 90+ (Big double+ upside, given the experience with the older bottles)
